Bridge is a fascinating game. It also is a very difficult game. It can be learned in a few hours, but it takes a life time to master.
Remarkably, it is a microcosm of life. Knowing the technical side of the game, bidding systems, declarer play technics, defense technics, is not enough to play the game well. There is, added to it, the understanding of the relationship with partner, opponents, and even spectators, if any.
An expert of the game is someone who understands all these, and is able to apply them.
An expert of the game is someone all others look up to, as a model of technical knowledge and behaviour.
